Small Group Participation
Solomon said that “one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him, and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Our small groups, whether a Sunday morning Bible fellowship group, a ladies Bible study, or a men’s breakfast, help build friendships and a better understanding of God’s word and His ways. Spiritual growth usually happens in community and relationships.
Serving Others
Jesus did not come to be served but to serve, and he encouraged his followers to do the same. As a church we place a high value on serving others, both in the church and in the community. We have a wide variety of opportunities for service in both areas.
Resurrection Baptism
The word “baptize” is Greek word meaning “to immerse.” Through resurrection baptism, as you go under the water and come up again, you present a picture of Jesus being buried and rising again from the dead. It is the means through which Jesus instructed his followers to demonstrate to the world what he did for them. While there are other forms of baptism which are practiced, we practice a resurrection baptism and have this as a prerequisite to church membership. For some it may be their first baptism, for others, such as the disciples of John the Baptist who were baptized again by Paul, it may be a second baptism.
Church Membership
Membership signifies a commitment to a local family of members and an accountability to the body as a whole. We ask members to (1) attend on a regular basis, (2) live in a manner not to bring reproach on Christ or his church, (3) find a place of service as they are able, and (4) support the work of the church financially. The pastor or a staff member would be happy to arrange a time to discuss it with you.
